Mr. Lennon, founding Principal of Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering, Inc., has been engaged in the practice of Civil Sanitary / Environmental Engineering since receiving a Masters degree in 1975. Prior to establishing Lennon and Smith Engineering in 1985. Mr. Lennon worked for a large Pittsburgh based environmental engineering consulting firm rising from the position of Staff Engineer to Senior Engineer / Senior Project Manager and Manager of the Sewer Systems Studies Department.

As Principal in Charge, Mr. Lennon has directed the development and growth of the Civil-Environmental Engineering Unit at Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering, Inc. In 2007, Mr. Lennon was certified by the American Association of Water Resources Engineers, in affiliation with EWRI and ASCE as a Diplomate Water Resources Engineer (D.WRE) for “superior professional education and experience… deemed sufficient to demonstrate satisfactory attainment of the water resources body of knowledge for a Diplomate.” Mr. Lennon was selected for the 2011 Civil Engineer of the Year award by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Pittsburgh Section. Mr. Lennon was also named Engineer of the Year for 2008 by both the Engineers Society of Western PA (ESWP) and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Pittsburgh post.
