Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering, Inc. (LSSE), an 80-person civil engineering and surveying company located in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, was informed that the Project Team for the Center Township Water Authority Interim Surface Water Plant and River Intake project had been awarded not one, but two local engineering awards – the 2016 Project Award in the Industrial Category by the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP) and the 2016 Award of Merit by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Pittsburgh Section. The Project Team included Center Township Water Authority as the Owner, LSSE as the Engineer/Project Manager, and contractors Guy’s Mechanical Systems Inc. and Trumbull Corporation, as well as a number of subconsultants.

Mr. Ned Mitrovich, P.E., LSSE Principal/Assistant Vice President, who led the engineering team, accepted LSSE’s project awards. LSSE is providing engineering services for the $65 million new potable water source of supply and surface water treatment plant located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. This complex, multi-phase public works project is being delivered in two phases, with the $28 million, award-winning first phase interim plant and river intake completed in September 2016. The second phase, currently underway, includes construction of the permanent surface water intake and water treatment plant. Mr. Mitrovich managed LSSE’s team from detailed design, permitting, construction through start-up to meet a 20-month, accelerated schedule using fifteen concurrent material and construction contracts
