Bridgewater Crossing Redevelopment
Brownfield Redevelopment

Streetscape located along the Beaver River and Riverside Drive

Client: Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development (BCCED)
Location: Bridgewater, Beaver County, PA

Redevelopment of the Pittsburgh region’s “Brownfield” (abandoned / vacated industrial) sites continues with Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development’s (BCCED) Bridgewater Crossing. The 12 acre site is located at the confluence of the Beaver and Ohio Rivers and formerly hosted a river barge repair facility. Following remediation of the former site, BCCED hired LSSE to provide civil-site design and related services for a new park and industrial / commercial development.

LSSE provided civil-site engineering services for this project. Phase 1 included a roadway extension (Mulberry Street extension consisting of pavement, concrete curbing and sidewalks and ADA accessible ramps), two building pads, sanitary and storm sewer design, site utilities, a grade signalized railroad crossing and PUC permit, a riverfront park, boat launch and docking facilities.

Phase 2 included a pedestrian riverwalk and river outlook areas with pedestrian benches, lighting and landscaping as part of the riverfront park.

The site also consists of a pedestrian walking path that encircles the entire development.

Construction Value: $1.7 million
