Best Management Practices (BMPs) of Low Impact Development (LID) and Green Infrastructure (GI) had been widely utilized as a method of erosion / sedimentation and water pollution control. Recently methods have shifted from “green field” development practices to application of GI BMPs in mature urban neighborhoods. This paper addresses the use of a GIS-based BMP siting approach, at a planning level, to identifying potential sites for retrofit GI projects. This approach can minimize runoff to drainage systems.
