North Fayette Township Trail Connector

LSSE provided survey, trail planning, segment by segment trail design. Work has begun to develop engineering plans and permitting services for the development of the North Fayette Trail Connector. This project, originated as an outgrowth of an existing roadway improvement project and became a multi-municipal planning project, with the lead taken by North Fayette Township.  The project was awarded a $230,000 grant from the Allegheny County Trail Development Fund for engineering and design of a system of bicycle improvements that will include sharrows, bike lanes, shared use paths and trails. Segments will be implemented in conjunction with private development, municipal road and bridge improvements and public park improvement projects. By incorporating the implementation into existing and proposed development and improvement projects the construction costs will be spread across project budgets and allow for coordinated but independent implementation. Thereby reducing impacts on the municipal budget and implementation schedule.
