Bridgewater Crossing – Brownfield (Former Barge Repair Facility) Redevelopment
The 12-acre site is located at the confluence of the Beaver and Ohio Rivers and formerly hosted a river barge repair facility. Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development (BCCED) hired LSSE to provide civil-site design and related services for a new industrial/commercial development.
Engineering design components included a roadway extension, two building pads, sanitary and storm sewer design, site utilities, a grade signalized railroad crossing and PUC permit, a riverfront park, boat launch and docking facilities, pedestrian riverwalk and river outlook areas with pedestrian benches, lighting, and landscaping as part of the riverfront park. Permitting for the project included National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, general permits, and a USACE 404 permit for the Army Corps of Engineers.
