Erie East Bay Front Greenway Trail

This project involved the development of a neighborhood park consolidated from four adjacent blighted properties in the City of Erie. The park is located on a portion of the greater Greenway Trail network, and is intended to provide the neighborhood with badly needed outdoor recreation and green space. The City of Erie is committed to a robust community engagement process that incorporates local artists, residents, and concerned stakeholders. LSSE led a variety of community engagement activities to bring together these groups, along with Public Works and the City of Erie, to develop a flagship park space to anchor the Greenway Trail in the City’s East Bayfront neighborhood. This created an opportunity for a variety of voices to be heard, and the creation of a park space reflective of the neighborhood, as well as connected to the wider City. After LSSE developed construction documents and guidance provided through the public bidding process, construction on the park began in the spring of 2025.
