North Fayette Township Municipal Complex / Public Works Garage

As the Township’s Engineer, LSSE provided engineering and permitting services for the construction of a 260’x 50’ Public Works Storage building that includes a 40’x 50’ cold storage area, and a 90’ x 62’ expansion to the existing Public Works Garage, which the Township uses for maintenance and includes a 3,600 SF office area. Each structure was of wood frame pole building construction with metal siding and roofing. Each building interior was finished with metal siding, concrete flooring, electrical service, including interior and exterior LED lighting, receptacles, and garage door openers, gas-powered heaters, floor drains, wall hydrants, and fire suppression systems.

Exterior improvements included construction of a 23,000 SF concrete driveway and parking between the buildings, as well as a 6,500 SY bituminous concrete parking lot area to connect to the existing municipal facility.

Site utilities included a 6” ductile iron waterline, a 8” PVC sanitary sewer, gas service and electrical service, including installation of a new transformer and generator.

LSSE prepared several bid packages for this Design-Build project, including general building construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire suppression. LSSE also prepared an overall master plan and earth distribution permit for the overall site construction, including the NPDES permit for the site. Overall,
LSSE prepared 12 separate sets of contract documents for the Township to bid on the project.
